Dmitrii Blinov is one of the antagonist from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. He is one of the Dark Lord Candidates, people who were all born in the year 1999 on August 11th, the day of Dracula's demise, and had obtained some of his powers. Although he displays an outward impression of rashness and irresponsibility, he is fully prepared to take any measures necessary to accomplish his goal.

Story

Events of Dawn of Sorrow

Dmitrii's ability, just like the one of Dario Bossi, was most likely conceived in 2035, when during the solar eclipise a small portion of Dracula's power leaked out. He eventually joined forces with a dark priestess named Celia Fortner, leader of a fanatic cult named Wight Light, and saw in him a potential Dark Lord. Their plan was to claim the Power of Dominance, a power that was slumbering in a young man named Soma Cruz, and grant it to either him or Dario.

Celia was able to lure the youth to their base of operation, a castle built on the remains of Castlevania. They prepared a welcome for Soma in the Wizardry Lab. Dario was unimpressed by his appearance and impatiently proposed to get rid of him and be done with it. Celia told him to hold, saying that they had the time wherever and whenever they pleased. This seemingly confused Dario, and Dmitrii, annoyed by his ignorance explained that whoever would be able to defeat the boy would be the one to become the Dark Lord. Dario understood and departed after having threatened Soma. Dmitrii, who had no reason to remain any longer, took his leave as well.

Dmitrii made his way to the Dark Chapel where he awaited Soma's arrival. When the boy made his entrance, Dmitrii displayed his extraordinary by defeating a Malachi by copying its own abilty and using it against the creature. He excused for the uncouth scene and introduced himself. Soma had been confused by the scene that had occured, and asked if he had forsaken Celia. Dmitrii responded he had drawn the conclusion; the scene he had witnessed was merely a ritual to gain power. The youth quickly realised that his oppenent's power was the abilty to copy magic attacks. Dmitrii confirmed that this was correct, and was about to start to the battle, when Soma suddenly told him to hold it. He had no reason to fight him, which was supported by the fact that Dmitrii had no reason whatsoever for going along with Celia's scheme. Dmitrii still wanted the Power of Dominance however, and explained that he wanted to know the meaning of his own powers. That was the reason why the wanted to become the Dark Lord, and for that, he needed Soma's ability. The two engaged in battle and Dmitrii was seemingly killed afterwards.

That wasn't the case however; after the battle, Dmitrii's soul entered Soma's body and started to copy his Power of Dominance. He would remain inside until the time was right to escape. All of a sudden, Dmitrii sensed that Soma's emotions shifted momentarily, allowing him to free himself from Soma. He then revealed his grant scheme to Celia, who truly believed he had died. Suddenly, Genya Arikado stepped forthward and declared that he wouldn't allow Dmitrii to succeed. Dmitrii had learned from scanning memories of Soma's past lives that this man was in reality Dracula's son: Alucard. He took advantage of this information and threanted to kill the boy if Alucard made one wrong move. Dmitrii then informed Celia that he must gain dominance over more powerful demons in order to surpass Soma. The two made their way to the Abyss where Dmitrii started to gather souls.

Knowing that Alucard would attempt to thwart his plans, Dmitrii used Celia as a sacrifie to render his powers useless. The Dark Lord Candidate was about to finish him off, but was quickly saved by Soma who had arrived in the nick of time. Dmitrii was about to take onthey boy when he came to a shocking realization: the Power of Dominance was not easily contained. His soul wasn't able to withstand a power that intense. Dmitrii fell to his knees and all of the souls he gathered emerged from his body in a blast of white light, vanquishing him for good.
