Story
Before Castlevania
One night, a tribe of warriors were taken over an ancient curse placed on their ancestors many years ago. They succumbed to madness and attacked where Ada lived while destroying and slaughtering everything in sight. During that time, Ada was only an infant but she was the only survivor and was eventually found by Cornell, who had regained his sanity. He great regrets over his actions, adopted Ada as his little sister and named her. They lived in Cornell's village, and in order to safeguard Ada, he have her a pendant which granted her protection from man-beasts. She would eventually found out her true connection to Cornell and although she didn't thought less of him, she kept this to herself.
Events of Legacy of Darkness
Ada's village would eventually be attacked by evil forces and her life took a drastic turn. She was kidnapped by Ortega, an old friend of Cornell, but her brother wasn't able to save her as he was out training and wouldn't arrive until much later. She lost her pendant in the struggle and was carried away to Dracula's Castle, acting as bait for Cornell.
Ortega locked her up in the castle's Clock Tower and she wouldn't regain consciousness until she was woken up by Cornell who had indeed come to rescue her. After doing this, he was about to take her home when suddenly a flying sickle came soaring in from afar and separated them. It was Death who interfered. He had been searching for Ada for a while because her absence almost ruined the timing needed for the ritual. After trapping Ada in a crystal, the two faded way.
She was brought to Dracula's Throne Room but luckily Cornell quickly came rushing in and tried to free her from the giant crystal in which she was trapped. The Dark Lord Dracula himself made his entrance and applauded the man-beast for making it that far. The two dueled, and after a hard-fought battle, Cornell was able to bring Dracula down. After his defeat, Dracula tried to drag Cornell's sister with him as a last act of revenge. Harnessing all of his strength, Cornell sacrificed the spirit of his wolf form in order to smash the crystal and save his sister therein, the wolf's spirit was effectively substituted as her replacement, finally freeing Cornell from the man-beast curse. A maniacally laughing Dracula then revealed that he achieved his true objective. Puzzled by his words, Cornell and Ada watched on as Dracula was vanquished completely. With Ada, Cornell escaped the castle and made it to the confines of the surrounding woodland.
They met up with Henry, who, thanks to Ada's pendant, hadn't run into any evil beings. While on their way home, the three decided to make up their camp and rest for the remainder of the night. While she conversed with Henry, she noticed that Cornell had fallen into deep thought and she snapped him out of it and told him not to worry. Although they weren't related by blood, together they could do anything. Cornell was naturally shocked that Ada knew his secret. Their resolve was to build their lives again and make a new beginning together
