What drew you to Castlevania? What made you become a big fan of it?

Hearing the music in Symphony of the Night at a friend's house had a vicious magnetic effect for me. Note: I mostly was not interested in music at that point. Soon after, I borrowed the game and put tens of hours into it within a single week, much to the disgusted shock of said friend. You could say that Symphony of the Night was in the right place at the right time - it was what I was looking for, even though I didn't exactly know I was looking for it. The visual design, the music, the spaciousness of the castle, the series-specific mystic-historicism - it was a game you could called "lovingly made" (too lovingly made, really).

Around what year did you become a big Castlevania fan?

Some time between 2001 or 2002.

When and how did you discover the Chapel of Resonance, and what made you want to keep coming back to it?

ha-HA!

What made you want to write for the Chapel of Resonance?

Dissatisfaction with pre-existing content elsewhere. I wanted to dissect the series again, but with a renewed vigor. Also, I was pretty confident in my writing abilities (which, in retrospect, kind of sucked (I will probably feel this way about my current writing in a year)).

What are your top 5 favorite Castlevania games in order?

I don't have a top 5 bouncing around in my head, but, uhhh.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Castlevania Bloodlines

Super Castlevania IV

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

Castlevania (NES)

Do you have any hobbies outside of video gaming?

Composing music with an electronic emphasis. Listening to 5.1 megatons of music a day. Writing fiction/poetry/articles. Painting and drawing. Reading books with sparkling bursts of dialogue and little description.

What other video games or video game series do you enjoy besides Castlevania?

I don't have a series that I follow. If a game is good, then good for that game!
That being said, I play GOD HAND at least once a week.
I also enjoy: (speedrunning) Super Metroid. Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan). Super Mario Bros. 3. Majora's Mask. Gears of War. Metal Gear Solid 3. Secret of Evermore. And others!
