Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Item Crashes
tem Crashes are abilities that are invoked through sub-weapons that generally have greater effects than the usual sub-weapon attacks, yet eat up more hearts. Both Richter and Maria have different Item Crashes. Richter's are based on the traditional sub-weapons, while Maria's are taken from Chinese gods representing the north, south, east, and west. Yes, it is bizarre for a European Christian girl to be gaining power from Chinese gods, but I guess we can just let that one pass.
Flame Whip
When no sub-weapon is equipped, Richter will leap up and lash with an elongated, flaming whip. The heart meter must be flashing green for this to be available.
Dagger - 10 Hearts
Richter's Thousand Daggers technique has him throwing knives directly forward in very quick succession. Aside from being able to turn left and right, he is immobile while executing this crash.
Axe - 10 Hearts
Richter will summon a ring of half moon axes to rotate around him before they spread in every direction. This can be very useful with destroying large sums of lesser enemies.
Holy Water - 20 Hearts
Richter's Hydro Storm technique causes a shower of Holy Water from the heavens to wash away evil. It strikes all onscreen enemies for decent damage, but is fairly costly to use.
Grimoire - 10 Hearts
Pages from the profound book form a circular pattern that shoots forward at a leisurely pace, destroying or halting the opposition.
Stop Watch - 30 Hearts
Twelve stars materialize, circling around Richter, and then launch toward enemies in sight. This is a good Item Crash, but not worth the large amount of hearts it eats up.
Cross - 15 Hearts
Richter will leap into the air, and a massive crucifix will form. Afterward, large transparent duplicates of the crucifix will stream across the screen, rising from the bottom and shooting to the top, damaging all they come in contact with. This is a very good attack.
Maria
Bird - 20 Hearts
A crimson phoenix descends from above, lifting Maria up and raining a shower of flames upon all. This is similar to Richter's Hydro Storm, and also a Spell Fusion technique used by Juste Belmont from Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance.
Cat - 20 Hearts
Maria calls on the aid of a giant tiger with a lavender mane. It picks Maria up, and together they rush enemies and then soar near the top of the screen.
Turtle - 10 Hearts
A huge terrapin appears that creates multiple images of itself which harm enemies, then it withdraws into its carapace and shoots forward like a bullet.
Egg - 5 Hearts
Maria will throw down a bird egg, which hatches, letting loose a flock of hatchlings flying in ring formation with a red bird in the axis. Together, they fly forward, damaging anything they hit.
Dragon - 50 Hearts
For a vast amount of hearts, a massive dragon will appear on the screen and lash out against all enemies, causing immense damage. Save this for when you really need it.
Song Book - 10 Hearts
Maria sings twelve musical notes that rise and hover around the top of the screen, damaging all enemies they touch, and slowing down foes.
Key
Both Maria and Richter can crash the key. Nothing will happen, aside from a question mark forming above your character's head. It will, however, make them invulnerable for a short period of time, so it can be useful.
