Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Endings

Richter's Ending

racula admits defeat at the hands of the Belmonts once again, and wonders aloud if it is because of fate. Richter derogatorily tells Dracula that he has no place in the world of the living. Dracula reminds the Vampire Hunter that it is not he who brings himself back, but humans, just like Richter. He is brought back by their wishes, desires, ambitions and greed. Because of that, Dracula asks if he could truly be called the evil one.

Richter tells Dracula that the desires and ambitions of humans also cause people to come together for the good of society. Dracula reminds Richter that, despite that, there he is. Without fail, humans always turn to him, seeking a solution. After his musings, Dracula's body ignites and dissipates while he laughs in full assurance that he will be back, and the Belmont's efforts are futile, because he has complete faith in the wiles of humans.

Richter escapes the castle, looking upon the place of his grand battle from a cliff. Strangely, in this ending, the castle does not crumble. Afterward, Richter rides through the sunbathed Transylvanian meadows.

After being defeated, Dracula ruminates on his existence, fate, the Belmonts, and mankind. He openly discusses philosophy with Richter Belmont, but shows no sign of turning from his hateful course.

Knowing full well that he will rise from the grave, Dracula has no fear of death, and very little regret about anything. He mocks Richter and the Belmont lineage's never ending battle as flames begin overtaking him.

There are two different versions of the credits screen. If you rescue all the maidens, Richter will ride on a carriage, and the faces of each girl will appear near the top of the screen. If you do not, Richter will be on a single horse, and the girls will not appear.

Maria's Ending

Like Richter's ending, Dracula reflects on the events that have transpired. Maria doesn't totally understand Dracula's elaborate commentary, and simplifies everything saying that no matter how complicated Dracula makes it; a bad thing is still a bad thing, and everything is his own fault.

The Count is amused by Maria's simple outlook on life, and fades away in flames, laughing in amusement and confidence, but Maria wonders what he finds so funny. Next, the castle begins to crumble, and Maria and all of her animal friends escape the dark stronghold before it collapses atop them. After all is said and done, Maria pleasantly meanders through the meadow while "Mary Samba" plays.

Maria has no problem giving the immortal Count a piece of her mind.

Without its Lord, the Castle begins crumbling. Maria and her company of animal companions hurry to safety.

When peace is restored, Maria enjoys a pleasant walk-about in the serene meadows of Transylvania.
