Spell Fusion
he system behind Spell Fusion is simple. When Juste picks up a sub-weapon, he has the option to coalesce said weapon with an elemental spell book, so long as the spell book is in his inventory. This will unleash a magical technique with an elemental quality that will exhaust Juste's mystical power. Using an item, such as a Mana Prism, can restore some of Juste's magic energy, or it can restore leisurely if Juste relaxes by not using magic. Save points can fully replenish Juste's magic meter. Spell Fusion can be turned on and off by pressing down, L, and R. While activated, you can switch books by pressing up, and either R or L.
There are four elemental spell books and one summoning book. The Summoning Tome allows Juste to beckon creatures to attack enemies for him. Each different sub-weapon paired with each different book yields a singular technique. The potency of the techniques (save for a secret one) is determined by Juste's Intelligence statistic. There are six sub-weapons total and five books, plus the one secret technique that doesn't require a sub-weapon. Thus, there are thirty-one different abilities. Let's take a look at each one of them.

Dagger + Fire Book
Combine the Fire Book with the Dagger to create flaming balls that rapidly bounce around the area. If you rotate the D-Pad in a full circle while the ring of daggers is appearing around Juste, all daggers will ignite into fireballs and bounce everywhere.

Two rows of sub-zero missiles shoot at a forward parallel arc and then narrow the distance as they zero in on the target.

Juste will fire radiant electric sparks into the air that rain down upon enemies about five seconds later.

Dagger + Wind Book
The Dagger and the Wind book allow Juste to throw many knives at a rapid pace. While doing this, Juste is limited to one spot, but he can change the direction in which he is facing. This is exactly like Richter's Dagger Item Crash from Dracula X.

By combining the powers of the Holy Water and Fire Book, Juste conjures a molten sphere that bounces along a surface, damaging whatever comes across it.

Juste uses the same Hydro Storm Item Crash as Richter Belmont. Juste causes a heavy downpour of lethal Holy Water to damage all on screen enemies.

Juste uses the Wind Book's power to keep his axes in the air. They will rotate in a set area. You can direct where they will go if you push the directional pad before the axe appears. If you don't guide the axe, it'll fly in a ring around the position Juste cast the spell.

With the arcane Summoning Tome, Juste temporarily assumes the form of a demon, whose sharp wings detach and fly around the room, tearing into foes.

Juste uses the pages of the Bible and Fire Book to unleash a maelstrom of flames. You can determine which direction the twister will go by either pressing nothing, or by pressing the directional pad in the opposite direction just after the spell is cast.

With the combined powers of the Ice Book and Bible, Juste can cause an overwhelming tidal wave that spreads across the surface to both sides of him to smother his opponents.

Two shields out of Gradius come to protect Juste from harm. If you press up, down, and attack, you can shift the shields to go behind Juste. Or, you can let one attach, and then use that combo before the second one takes its position. This will give you shields on both sides.

Juste uses the Wind Book to keep a trio of Bibles aloft and rotating around him quickly, forming a barrier. This is similar to the way Alucard uses the Bible in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. They disappear after about ten seconds.

Juste summons a fairy that hovers around him until she can find an enemy to thwomp with her enormous mallet, doing incredible damage.
