Successor of Fate

e is the grandson of famed hero, Simon Belmont, and the successor to the Belmont clan's Vampire Hunter namesake. Ever since he was bequeathed the Vampire Killer whip at the age of sixteen, Juste has strived to fill the role that his grandfather left behind.

While he has been trained in the ways of his Belmont forefathers, Juste also has the enchanted gene of the Belnades family, which was dormant in all other Belmonts before him. This grants Juste the talent to manipulate the elements of nature through miraculous spell books to do his bidding.

Juste has strong ties with his friends Maxim Kischine and Lydie Erlanger; he wears a red-jeweled bracelet to symbolize his loyalty to them. He never expected to have to face the horrors of Dracula's Castle, but when it materialized in the mist and Lydie was taken there against her will, Juste rose to the challenge. He braved Castlevania and the perils therein, with the tenacity of his grandfather, as the Successor of Fate.

Lydie Erlanger

Beloved Person

This innocent youth is a dear friend of Juste Belmont and Maxim Kischine. Lydie was always a source of comfort and encouragement for the two vampire hunters, whose training was so intense.

She was taken hostage and brought to Castlevania, where her blood would serve as a means to bring the Castle to completion on the earthly plain. Locked away in an antechamber just beyond the Throne Room of the abscent Count Dracula, all alone, she waited for a savior.

Maxim Kischine

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (1748)

Prologue (Theme of Maxim Kischine)

He is Juste's best friend and friendly rival. While not born into the Belmont Clan, he and Juste were like blood brothers, each willing to risk their own lives for each other. Like Juste, Maxim wore a bracelet to represent his friendship and adoration for his fellow vampire hunter, but with a blue jewel instead of a red one.

Maxim become adept at an exotic fighting style, which gave him the capability to create duplicates of himself to confound his opponents. He also learned unique sword techniques and the effective usage of shurikens. While there are similarities in Juste and Maxim's fighting behavior, there are also grave differences. Maxim is even swifter than Juste, and his attacks are more concerted to strike harder. His defensive aptitude isn't as high, however, and he doesn't have as wide an arsenal at his disposal.

As their years of training together continued, their bond only grew. It wasn't until they reached the age of sixteen, when Juste was rewarded the coveted title of Vampire Killer, that their relationship had begun to falter. This new development disheartened Maxim, who felt as though Juste was better than him. Realizing even to himself that his jealousy was selfish, he had suppressed openly admitting his desire to be better than the Belmont clan, to be better than Juste. With his Stellar Sword by his side, Maxim set off on a training expedition to hone his skills and become more powerful than Juste.

Two years later, he mysteriously found himself back home, his body covered with terrible wounds. For reasons he couldn't explain, he had vague, yet distressing images in his head of his friend, Lydie Erlanger, being abducted and taken to a mysterious castle cloaked in fog. Ignoring his injuries, he reunited with Juste to seek his help in rescuing Lydie. The two journeyed through thick fog and arrived at the gates of a foreboding castle. With all their courage and faith, they entered to rescue their missing friend.

Merchant

Appearances:
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (1748)
Themes:
I'll Sell at My Place

Not much is known of this fellow. While on tour selling his wares, he was absorbed by thick mist. The nebula veiled him so much that he could not find his way. What he did find was the Demon Castle of Lord Dracula. With no other options, the Merchant entered the castle and set up numerous booths within it. He later met Juste Belmont, scion of the legendary clan of vampire slayers, who became a valuable client to the him. It is not known whether or not he survived Castlevania's destruction. He's oddly content with his morbid prison and seems to defy the laws of the world.

Death

He is Count Dracula's most trusted aid and the immortal embodiment of eternal loss. When Castlevania reemerged, even Death himself was mystified as to the reasons how and why. Realizing that Castlevania was not complete, it was Death's aim to unify the two castles.

Death would sometimes meet and discuss things with an equally curious vampire hunter of the Belmont lineage who wandered the castles in search of his missing friend. Though the hunter would challenge him on different occasions, Death was more interested in finding answers than fighting. Death eventually discovered that the key to fully restoring Castlevania rested with Belmont's two friends, Lydie Erlanger and Maxim Kischine. When this dark spirit creature threatened to take Juste Belmont's loved ones away from him forever, the hunter tracked him down in the drenched hollows of the castle's foundation, where the two had one last meeting.
