Castlevania: Dracula X Characters

Richter Belmont

ichter is a hot-blooded vampire hunter with a strong sense of justice, and strict conviction in upholding his blood-bound duty to keep Count Dracula from overtaking humanity.
When Richter discovers that the Count has arisen from death and ordered the attack of a village near him, he takes the Vampire Killer whip, a sacred weapon passed down to him from his family members, and sets off into the night to take action against the undead. To his horror, his girlfriend, Annet Renard, and her little sister, Maria, were taken hostage and brought to Castlevania, the fortress of Count Dracula.
Richter embarks on a daring and personal mission not only to slay Dracula, but also save those dear to his heart.
Annet Renard

Richter Belmont's sweetheart and the older sister to Maria. Count Dracula sensed her connection to the Belmont Clan and took her for his own purposes. The Dark Lord plans to cruelly turn her against Richter. If Richter does not rescue her in time, he will be forced to take up arms against the one he loves.
There are several substantial changes to this version of the character than the original from Rondo of Blood. In Dracula X, her name is spelled 'Annet' instead of the initial spelling, 'Annette'. She is also the boss of Stage 6 if the player does not rescue her in Stage 5'. In Rondo of Blood, Annette was never a boss. Other striking deviations are seen in her physical features. This version does not resemble the original in the slightest, and the original was not related to Maria Renard.
Maria Renard

Maria is Annet's younger sister who was captured by Dracula's forces and hidden in a mine. Dracula X's Maria doesn't seem to display any special powers, or show any desire to become a vampire hunter, nor is she a playable character.
Count Dracula

An ancient vampire who presides over those who dwell in darkness as The King of the Night. In his human life, he was a servant of God and friend of the Belmont family. His mind became twisted due to extreme grief he suffered over the loss of his wife. He grew to hate God, and eventually mankind. He abandoned humanity and now lives in the night, ruling over it from his demonic fortress, Castlevania. He was killed by the Belmont family in ages past, but he rises again and again. He is consistently resurrected by humans who turn to madness and yearn for chaos and destruction.
