Castlevania: The Adventure Ending

n early game in the series on a primitive platform, it should come as no surprise that Adventure only has one lone ending available to it. It isn't as predictable as you may have been lead to believe, though.

Christopher battles the Count in his resting chamber, deep within the halls of Castlevania. After having proven himself worthy of the Belmont bloodline's destiny, he escapes the crumbling castle and watches it collapse from a mountaintop, in traditional fashion (in fact, this game was one of the first to make use of that motif). Roll credits. All is right in the world. Yet the evil one did not pass away after all. Severely weakened, stripped of his domain, a lone bat emerges from the castle's rubble, and flies off as quickly as it had appeared.

Accompanied by the morose sounds of Reprise, the ominous words, "The End", linger on the screen...
