Castlevania II: Simon's Quest Inventory

ere you will find complete lists for all of the items, equipment, et cetera found in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
Whips
Like Castlevania, Simon Belmont favors the whip as his main weapon. Simon's Quest departs from Castlevania, however, in that Simon must purchase different whips. Otherwise, the player will be stuck with the measly Leather Whip, which barely scratches enemies past Berkeley Mansion.
Leather Whip
Location: Default Weapon

The humble L. Whip. Simon's trusty whip is useful for the first few areas, but quickly becomes obsolete.
Thorn Whip
Location: Town of Jova

For the price of 100 hearts, Simon may wield this prickly whip, possessing twice the power of the L. Whip.
Chain Whip
Location : Town of Veros

Familiar to those experienced with Castlevania, the Chain Whip is even more powerful than the Thorn Whip. The asking price is 150 hearts, and it's worth it.
Morning Star
Location : Town of Oldon

Players may recognize this as the glowing final upgrade seen in Castlevania and other games in the series. The Morning Star is a powerhouse, offering increased range and strength than its predecessors. It's well worth the 200 heart investment.
Flame Whip
Location : West of Bodley Mansion, you must find a hidden merchant to obtain this upgrade.

The Morning Star isn't the final upgrade! Crafty adventurers that check every nook and cranny may solve the secret to that seemingly sealed-in merchant. If you bring along the Morning Star, he'll bless you with the ultimate weapon - the Flame Whip. You get twice the Morning Star's power - for free!
Sub-Weapons and Items of Revelation
A man can't survive on a whip alone. Scattered throughout Transylvania are sub-weapons that will bolster Simon's chances of survival. Besides dispatching enemies, some will reveal hidden paths, or shatter the containers of Dracula's Remains.
Diamond
Location: West of Braham Mansion in Denis Woods.

Rare ricocheting rock that bounces off surfaces. It's handy in hallways infested with the undead.
Dagger
Location: Town of Veros.

Sold by a friendly merchant for 50 hearts. The Dagger is yet another familiar face from Castlevania. Short ranged, it's best for slaying those hard-to-reach ghouls slowing you down.
Holy Water
Location: Town of Jova.

50 hearts will buy only a few things, Holy Water being one of them. It has lost its offensive use in Simon's Quest, inflicting only minor damage. But, don't sell it short; by tossing this item, you can find which platforms are illusions, and reveal reclusive Merchants selling heavy-hitting weapons.
Silver Knife
Location: Camilla Cemetery

Throwing a clove of garlic in the Camilla Cemetery will reveal a man that will bestow Simon the prized Silver Knife. While not much different from the Dagger, it will go through enemies and off the screen at the cost of 1 heart.
Oak Stake
Location: In every manor, there's a merchant prowling somewhere that carries these.

For 50 hearts, you have one shot at breaking seemingly impenetrable orbs that conceal the Count's remains. Well, as long as you have 50 hearts to spare, anyways. A pacing merchant within all the mansions will carry these stakes - buy 'em when you can, otherwise you'll be trapped just in time for Undead Spring Cleaning.
Golden Knife
Location: Mansion; the Grim Reaper will drop it once you defeat him.

Your reward for beating down the Angel of Death itself. The Golden Knife is the most powerful sub-weapon. It will tear through enemies and briefly paralyze them, all for the cost of two hearts. Its power is comparable to the Morning Star or Flame Whip.
Sacred Flame
Location: Dabi's Path: Using Holy Water on one of the stone steps will reveal it...

This hidden sub-weapon acts similar to the Holy Water in Castlevania. Once thrown, it will land on the ground and sprout a small column of fire. It's good at slowing down those quick enemies lunging for Simon's neck.
White Crystal
Location: Town of Jova

As an old man in Jova will tell you, the first thing you need to do is buy the White Crystal. Not only will it show Simon an otherwise invisible platform, it will trigger necessary bartering with some odd fellows.
Garlic
Location: Several towns

Famed for warding off vampires and other undead denizens, placing garlic in front of an enemy will damage it. The best purpose for this smelly herb, however, is placing it in special areas in cemeteries to reveal hidden merchants that will reward Simon with rare treasures.
Laurels
Location: Within several towns and Laruba Mansion

An enchanted leaf that will grant fleeting invincibility to Simon. They're useful for traversing lethal areas, such as poisonous marshes brimming with gruesome sludge or hordes of flesh-hungry monsters.
Blue Crystal
Location: Trade your white crystal for it with a man in the Town of Aljiba.

Simon doesn't seem to be a champion swimmer, and unfortunately, the lands around Dracula's Castle are home to some annoyingly placed lakes. Out of these haunted waters, one body is a clever illusion. By equipping the Blue Crystal and kneeling by this lake, you will reveal a path. A man in Aljiba will trade Simon this crystal for a White one; good thing, as you don't need the white crystal anymore.
Magic Cross
Location: Dropped by Carmilla's Mask in Laruba Mansion.

Held by a possessed mask, only the Cross will allow Simon passage into Dracula's Castle. Slay the strange creature to procure this important relic.
Silk Bag
Location: Given to you by a hidden merchant in a Cemetery.

This handy silk bag allows you to carry more garlic, laurels, and grants some resistance to damage.
Red Crystal
Location: Town of Aldora.

Yet another man is interested in these crystals. This time, it's the Blue Crystal. He will offer the Red Crystal in exchange. Rest assured, it is a good swap. By equipping this curious jewel, kneeling at a cliff will summon a spirit to whisk Simon away to the daunting Bodley Mansion.
Relics of Dracula
Remains of the ghastly Count have been tucked away in five creepy manors guarded by an array of horrendous beasts and ghouls eager to avenge their fallen master. Only by striking an ethereal orb with an Oak Stake can you acquire the treasures you seek.
To expel Dracula's curse, you must gather these forbidden remains and take them to…the ruins of Dracula's Castle. Luckily, for our otherwise unlucky hero, equipping these grim parts will grant him some necessary benefits to ease his quest.
Dracula's Rib
Location: Berkeley Mansion

When standing still, the rib acts like a shield that will repel projectiles none too healthy for our Vampire Hunter's well-being.
Dracula's Heart
Location: Rover Mansion

Certain that suspicious Ferryman knows of another place he can take you to? Equip Dracula's Heart - it'll command loyalty from the old kook.
Dracula's Eyeball
Location: Brahm Mansion

When equipped, Simon can see hidden tomes that will give you more reliable hints than the shady villagers. Be warned: even some of these are untrustworthy.
Dracula's Nail
Location: Bodley Mansion

As odd as it sounds, this gnarled nail of Vlad will allow Simon's whip to break bricks. Note that these are the same bricks vulnerable to the Holy Water, as well.
Dracula's Ring
Location: Laruba Mansion

Dracula's prized Ring gives Simon no special benefits, but it, too, must be destroyed to end the vile Curse once and for all.
