Castlevania: Circle of the Moon Secrets

ircle of the Moon doesn't have as many secrets and unlockables as some of the other adventure based Castlevania games. There is no Sound Mode, hidden playable character, Boss Rush, or anything of the like. It does include different modes that have an effect on Nathan's statistics, and a hidden form that Nathan can become.

Magician Mode

After completing the game with Nathan, input FIREBALL as your name when beginning a new game file. This mode will allow Nathan to start with all of the Action and Attribute cards, however, his physical abilities will be very weak.

In this mode, Nathan will become a powerful magician, but won't be able to muscle his way through with physical attacks.

Fighter Mode

After completing the game in MAGICIAN mode, input GRADIUS as your name when beginning a new game file. This grants Nathan more strength and defense than usual, but his magical capacities will be miniscule.

Ihis is the opposite of Magician mode. The DSS won't be of much benefit while in this mode.

Shooter Mode

After completing the game in the MAGICIAN and FIGHTER modes, input CROSSBOW as your name when beginning a new save file. Nathan will begin with less strength and defense than he would in the normal mode, but with more hearts as well as the ability to use a dagger that homes in on enemies. The sub-weapons pack more of a punch, too.

You'll have to depend heavily on sub-weapons in this mode.

Thief Mode

After finishing the game in all prior modes, input DAGGER as your name when beginning a new game file. All of Nathan's stats will be low, except for luck; thus, items and cards will be come upon more easily, but the challenge from enemies will be heightened.

You'll have to depend heavily on sub-weapons in this mode.

Bear

There is an outwardly pointless item called Bear Ring. If equipped, it will vastly lower Nathan's statistics. In truth, it is the catalyst for assuming the form of an abnormal bear character that is from an N64 game called Rakuga Kids.

You will also need the DSS cards Pluto and Black Dog. Whereas that combination would usually transform Nathan into a Skeleton, with the Bear Ring equipped, he will instead become a green bear.

Acquiring this ring isn't easy. Defeating the speedy Skeleton Medalist attains it, should he be willing to drop it. Equipping the Bear Ring can be detrimental to Nathan's safety.

Pluto + Black Dog

With the Bear Ring equipped, this arrangement changes Nathan into a bear with three sorts of very weak attacks. A single attack from any enemy will spell doom for Nathan, should it connect.
