Castlevania Glitches and Tricks

here aren't many special tricks and glitches to exploit in Castlevania. However, those that are available are quite interesting.
Enemy Push
Because Simon gets knocked around by enemies that damage him, you can use the extra push to do what little amount of sequence breaking can be done in this linear game. Or, you can exploit this to get to areas of the game that Simon shouldn't be able to access.
In the Entrance Halls, there's a large block that… blocks the path. This usually causes Simon to take a detour through a deadly moat like area. If you're skilled enough, you can use a Vampire Bat to knock Simon on top of the brick, and skip the moat altogether.

Another opportunity to skip a section is in Stage 2. With good timing, the Medusa Heads can push Simon up to this higher level. By doing so, the most perilous part of this stage can be ignored.

You've probably noticed the Mermen walking around in the stalactite ceilings of Stage 4. Simon can do this, too. With good timing, you can use the service of a Vampire Bat to give Simon a little jolt that will propel him to the ceilings of the cave.

Cross Super-Crush!
The Cross Boomerang is a devastating weapon, but it can be used in such a way that it totally obliterates foes with one blow.
Some say the Holy Water trick is really something, but it has nothing on the Cross Boomerang. In Stage 3, carry a Cross into the battle with the two Mummies. Wait until the Mummies get right close to each other and then let fly a Cross. The resulting damage will be overwhelming.
