Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge

astlevania II: Belmont's Revenge is the second Castlevania title for the Nintendo Gameboy. It implements many features from the first Gameboy title, Castlevania: The Adventure, such as a whip that can shoot fire balls, ropes that the player character can climb, coins that lend to point total instead of traditional money bags, and a variety of other things.

Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge is not to be confused with the Nintendo Entertainment System game, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. During the early days of the Gameboy, it was normal for recognized series on the NES to have a counterpart series on the Gameboy. Belmont's Revenge is the direct sequel to Castlevania: The Adventure, hence why it is called Castlevania II, as The Adventure is the original Gameboy Castlevania title. This game continues the adventures of Christopher Belmont, this time as he searches for his teenage son, Soleiyu. Belmont's Revenge is unique to other Castlevania games for having a stage select feature similar to what is seen in the Mega Man titles.

In 2000, Belmont's Revenge was re-released in Europe as part of Konami GB Collection Volume 4. This version was rendered in full color, unlike the original version.

Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge was first released in Japan and the United States on August 12, 1991, then in Europe on November 26, 1992.
