These rules are in place to keep the Anti-Chapel orderly and ensure that it is a pleasant environment to discuss any aspect of Castlevania.

All members are to be treated with respect and courtesy.
If you have a problem with someone on the forum, private message me about it. Insults, flames, and other forms of mudslinging will not be tolerated. Debates are fine, but do not cross the line with them. Those who repeatedly break this rule will receive three warnings, and if they still continue, they will be banned. There is no excuse for posting hateful, abusive messages intended to hurt people.

Be mindful of common decency.
This is not an adult forum, which means no pornography, crude sexual remarks, or overly gory pictures. Nudity is not allowed. This board should be able to be viewed at a school, library, or work place without any question.

No lock mongering.
Do not predict that a topic will be locked, or openly ask that a topic be locked. If we feel a topic should be locked, then we will lock it. If you have problems with something on the forum, private message me.

No double posting.
Or rather, no unnecessary double posting. You may double post if you have a good reason to. Use your own discretion.
There are quote and edit buttons for a reason. Double posting is strongly discouraged, but you will not receive a warning for this unless you make it a habit. Also, if you're replying to someone, there is no need to always quote her or his whole message. That causes needless clutter on the forum and impairs the overall readability.

No Flame baiting.
Flame baiting is the act of intentionally (or even unintentionally) posting to upset other members in hopes of goading them into a hostile dispute. Examples of flame baiting are posting just to say how much you don’t like this forum, or incessant bashing of a game, character, developer, website, and etcetera.

No Gravedigging.
Do not post in an inactive thread that is more than one week old, unless you have a very good reason to.

Do not go off-topic.
Try to keep your posts related to the topic that is being discussed. If you find yourself wanting to talk about something else, make another topic for it.

No Illegal Activity.
Do not post rom links, or mention/ask where to find roms, unless they're the ones located on the Chapel main site. Also, do not discuss or post plans of carrying out illegal activities, this includes pirating techniques and posting warez.

No duplicate topics.
Do not post a topic more than once, or a topic that is very similar to one that is currently going on, or happened quite recently. These topics will be locked. Take a look around the forum to see if what you wanted to post has been discussed recently.

No Spam.
Spam is posting pointless messages just for the sake of posting. This includes replies like "LOL" and "Yeah". Please post only when you have something new to contribute to a topic. A new post in a topic is not always a cue for you to post again.

Be mindful of spoilers.
If you're going to discuss spoilers, have the courtesy to put up a warning first. If a member makes a habit of not doing this, they will be warned.

No Trolling.
Intentional trolling is deliberately attempting to disrupt the community through things like mass spamming, identity deception (that is pretending to be a regular member, but truthfully only being here with an agenda to disrupt the community somehow, or using alternate accounts), or bashing members or the whole website and forum on another website.

Whether intentional or not, any member who extracts an extraordinary amount of time and attention from the Forum Staff may be banned from the forum at any time, temporarily or permanently. An "extraordinary amount of time" is defined as requiring moderation on a regular basis, like daily or weekly, for disruptions of varying degrees. Any member that is excessively causing, creating, or adding to difficulties for other members or Forum Staff will be put in this category.

No religious or political debate topics
-- or topics that can easily turn into a debate over them. These tend to get too personal.

Posts must be made in comprehensible English.
This is an English language website, and readers should be able to understand what you're writing. This rule doesn't apply in special cases, like topics about different languages.

Images (including avatars and signatures).
Do not post images that are over 700 pixels wide. If you need something resized, don't be shy about private messaging me about it.

The maximum size for avatars is 150x150 pixels, and keep your signatures at or below 500x200 pixels, including text. Also, animated gifs that will cause really bad lag for some are discouraged, and you will be asked to remove them (this does not mean ALL animated gifs).

You would go about posting images on the forum like so:


Simply put the url of your desired image within the img brackets. Instead of doing it manually, while posting, if you look at the bottom row of where it says "Add BBC tags," there are small square icons. Click on the second from the left and the brackets will appear for you. Signatures must be no larger in file size than 256kb.

The Anti-Chapel is not a platform to advertise or promote your own or other websites, chat rooms, or forums. If you would like us to add a link to your website, please contact us. Should a website be of particular interest to a user in a discussion, we have no objections to you providing a link on occasion as long as it is not done to excess and is of full relevance to the context of the discussion. Links to more information about a fan project in the Fan Works forum are fine.

Members may also place a link in signatures as long as it complies with the Forum Rules. If we see the link as obtrusive, like with over-sized text or quickly flashing images, we will ask that it be removed or replaced with something less distracting.

Respect Decisions of the Forum Staff.
Please do not tell us what we need to do, or how we should run this forum. We are open to suggestions, but not demands or nagging. This is much worse when it is done in public. There is nothing wrong with sending us polite private messages about our policies. If we do not change things to the way you want them, please leave it at that.

Administrators and Super Moderators reserve the right of banning offenders from the boards, temporarily or permanently, without warning. Some may be warned, and others may not, at our discretion. The reasons behind a banning involve violating the rules. They have nothing to do with what we may think of an individual.

Bannings and lesser disciplinary actions should not be discussed on the boards. Those are matters best left between the poster and Administrators and Super Moderators. Do not make a topic or post in a topic asking about the ban.

Temporary Bans and Ban Evasion.
If a member gets temporarily banned and decides to somehow evade their ban, they will be permanently banned. Those who are permanently banned are no longer welcome here because of something they did wrong. Members only receive one temporary ban. If they are banned again, they are no longer welcome back to the forum.

Messages posted on Anti-Chapel express the views of the authors, not those of Chapel of Resonance management.
