______________________________________-

A random rough translation by some dude regarding the game:

Quote
the protagonist (Shanoa? no idea how to romanize it) belongs to the Order of Ecclesia, which is dedicated to fighting Dracula. The Order raised her as a weapon against Dracula. She can use holy sword, holy whip and some technique called Grief (again, this might not be the proper romanization).

More information (official info)
Kotaku:
Quote
The story takes place years after the Belmont family has completely disappeared, but Dracula is still going strong. Many organizations have cropped up to try and defeat the vampire but the only ones who seem up to the task are the mysterious Order of Ecclesia. The art style for the characters has changed from the traditional anime style to a much more pleasing (to me anyway) illustrative style that really shows of the beauty of the female protagonist in particular.

The combat has changed as well, this time relying on a "glyph" system. Essentially, magical glyphs can be absorbed that provide Shenoa with magical weapon abilities. These abilities can be assigned and used from three different areas: left hand, right hand or back. These glyphs can be used at will, but beware because they will sap your magic points! Equipping the same glyph to both hands will provide you with a quicker attack, but will drain your magic faster. Also new to this title is the addition of a world map that will allow you to travel outside the confines of the castle to explore locations such as mountains and a sinking ship.

Thankfully, Order of Ecclesia bucks the Saturday morning cartoon-crap drawings with traditional art from the talented series veteran Ayami Kojima. For the critical Castlevania fan, that's just the icing on the cake.
Apparently that's bull.

A very reassuring video with a very annoying interviewer from GamePro.

Stupid interviewer....

Gamedaily preview with a helpful hint - don't play CV related stuff until this game's release, and you're sure to appreciate it as much as you should, since it won't seem like zombie-hacking got dull! Smiley

It could be the blurred image or something, but I think the artwork is positively delicious. And since that woman has a different expression on her face in the leaked screens, it could mean we are getting multiple shows of emotion, with good art to boot. Bonus.

The rightmost pillar in the dialogue scene seems to have been made more ornately decorated during the past six months.

Nothing new though, all ds titles had that. And kojima never does those, unless it's a heavy character shift (good/evil richter/maxim, or sane/insane graham), so she's most definitely out of the picture.

No, you misunderstand me. I'm aware the previous DS titles had that, but this is a possibility of having it with actual good art.

It's good to finally have some confirmation on this.
The game looks pretty dark for one of the DS titles.  That's a good sign.  The portrait art is pretty awesome.  The boss in the lower right hand corner reminds me of the final boss in Super C.

Still same old skeleton sprites, though.  Pfffffffft!

Everyone look at the top portion of the picture.  Under Konami and the third bar.  It says 1-2.  Does this mean 1-2 players?  Maybe something besides boss rush?

Anyways.  Like has been said, same looking skeletons, though two of the background pictures look alright.  The attack animation looks kindof crappy I think though.  We'll have to wait until we get more pictiures.

*edit*

That picture of the water area where the characters are jumping on boxes looks pretty awesome.

Looks like I won't be getting one Castlevania game either, if the Wii rumor is true.  Yeah, it's Castlevania, but every game I've played on the Wii isn't any sortof long lasting enjoyment.  I wouldn't get a system just for one game, though I'd possibly by it for 19.99 and play it at a friends then keeping it for nothing more than collectors purposes.

It's dark due to scan quality. I don't think it'll be any darker than the leaked shots.

It's about as dark as those beta sotn shots.

SotN wasn't bright, though. So there's some hope.

I cannot say I am as pumped as I was. I literally facepalmed when I saw the trees. To be honest, I'd rather them start making the games on the PSP- at least they're forced to be original there.

I've always thought it was hilarious that Graham thinks he's not Dracula because he gets killed. If anything, that would confirm his status as Dracula.

Yeah, but those screens were so damn dark you couldn't see half of the details you can see in an emulator or good quality tv.

It was almost the same as the second page here. Compare it to the first, it looks like someone darkened it by 20-30%
you can't see crap on them compared to the first page which is only a bit darker than it should be (comparing the crab to the leaked shots)
